Line to Editable Patch

Create a line roadway and make vertices bezier corner and line segments curve to
adjust the vertex handles to round and smooth the roadway intersection. Then
convert the line to a editable patch. You can no longer bend and adjust the line
segments between vertices with the handles. The vertex handles move but the line
segments do not. What's up with that?? How can you bend the line segments
between vertices now?? Normally with editable patches you can adjust the line
segments between vertices.
