Backburner help and info

I am currently using Max.9x and have recently discovered that I can network
render with backburner. I just have some basic use and setup questions. First,
do the computers I use have to be the same, as in a server stack? or can they be
normal workstations varying in specs and model/brand?(Is there minimum # of
computers needed?)  Also, I just want to make sure, will I be able to render one
scene using multiple computers? or is it just used to render multiple scenes at
once (one on each computer). Lastly, can someone tell me how to set it
up...(which computers need what running and what do I set the settings at)
suppose all the computers are networked via LAN and are connected through a
standard router. (all computers used have Max.9x on them) Thanks,
