Re: Optimum Hardware Setup?

is there really any advantage from a 256 MB card to 512MB.  most of the modeling
i do is quite detailed.  i'm sure i'll notice the difference right  away since
my old outdated laptop only has 64MB of video memory.  i was thinking of your
desktop and laptop idea.  do you think an Nvidia 8400GS is too low end for 3D
max or should i just stick with the 8600GT or 8700GT.  also, is there a huge
speed difference between the T7300, 7500, 7700?  i guess if i have the money to
buy the 7700 i should just go ahead and do it to try and future proof the
machine a bit.  Dell's are a little pricey for what i want and the HP in my
price range only offers the 8400GS 512MB (turbocached).
