What version of AE are you using? TGA and PNG all work fine on my copy of AE
7.0.

I'm using AE 6.5. Maybe they fixed that problem in AE 7 (I hope so!)

I have 6.5 and TGA and PNG works great (although I prefer PNG's!).
Can you post a rendered PNG? I'll save it in a 6.5 AEP file, and send it
back to you...

Are you using a standard material or a raytrace material? If you're using a
raytrace material, the alpha is solid although your sphere is transparent.
The alternative is to use a standard material, or raytrace with mental ray,
then you will have an alpha that matches your transparency.

Hi Eric,
Here is the PNG you requested (rendered out at 48 bit). When you reply back,
could you let me know what option you selected for the alpha when
importing it into AE? I've tried Straight and Premult but neither worked for
me.
TGAs do the same.
David, I'm not using any raytrace materials here so I don't think that would
be causing the problem (raytrace wouldn't even render---too slow).
Thanks for your replies!
Joel
