server vs. serversvc

When I run server on another machine, it works fine and registers with the 
manager on a different machine.  When I install the server service and start 
it, the manager has an error with machine that is running the service.  I 
checked the firewall and has backburner server as an exception.  Do I need 
to add the serversvc.exe to the exception list?  ( I just thought of that 
while writing this, so I'll go try it next time I am at that computer).  Both 
machines are running Windows XP home edition.
