Split Scanlines & Elements

Hello everyone,
I am running into a problem when trying to render split scanlines with 
elements together (i.e. diffuse, specular, etc.)  It seems as though Max only 
renders and stitches the final image correctly (unless I check off "Render

Final Image" this is whichever element was rendered last.)  It renders the

last strip of each element, but not the others.  I have unchecked the switch 
to have it delete intermediate strips, so I know exactly what Max has done 
in the process of rendering.

Any ideas on how to get Max (Mental Ray) to render all the strips for each 
element?  (So that four elements and 6 strips would yield 24 components, then 
stitched together to 4 elements.)
