There are no plugins to help you "learn" Max -- and there aren't any
plugins beginners need (indeed, Max has so much stuff that even those of us
using it for decades need very few plugins).

Going through the tutorials in the manual is your absolute best bet -- there is
no shortcut here.  After many years of study I think I know about half of what
Max can do and continue to learn and study every single day.  If you have the
time and aptitude you can do better, but it will still be years before you can
consider yourself a "master".
