How stupid do I feel now!?

I have to say that this never occurred to me.

I have done some investigating, and it seems that this is indeed the problem.
Auto save was kicking in every 5 minutes. Strange thing is though that because
max cashes some of the parameters when it renders, not all the settings are lost
when it auto saves, resulting in much confusion!

So have switched off auto save and its all running smoothly now.

I have gone from hating to loving this software! Very cool!

Still would like to see this issue mentioned in the help file. There is actually
no mention of the demo limitations in any of the documentation.
