Follow the seams!! (garment maker)
Mon, 27 Aug 2007 13:21:54 +000
I went through the tutorial provided, and couldn't create seams between shoulder
and arm (page 215-216). I got the dreaded "Seamline topology is wrong"
statement. So, to all those who have had this and didn't get it, or to those who
are new to Garment Maker (like me), the way to successfully create seams is to
follow the seams in successive order. Start with an "startpoint" from
where the seam begins, then stitch the seams together one after another, and end
it at the last seam (endpoint
).

What I did wrong was to stitch seams between front and back under the arms
BEFORE I stitched the shoulder and arm together. It is like counting 1 3 and 2,
instead of 1 2 and 3. I hope this will make other avoid the same error I did,
and make them understand that they shouldn't stitch the seams in random order.

Thanks for your attention.
