This book is amazing.  I went straight from "beginning programmers C#"
by wrox (because, well, never coded a line in my life and I had no clue what was
going on) to http://www.charlespetzold.com/dotnet/ .  His book is well laid out
and covers the basics in such a clear manner even I understood it.  He unleashed
me on the object browser and I haven't had to pick up another book since! 
although I know I will soon because I hitting the end of my "figure it out
myself" limit on some key issues in my current project >.<
