I would recommend C# How To Program from deitel

This book was great when I used it for C# 1.0 so I guess now it is still a good
book.

Also if you wish to go through Web Developement using C# I recommend APress
books:

Pro ASP.NET 2.0 in C# 2005 Book From APress

or the new book Pro ASP.NET 3.5 in C# 2008, Second Edition

Hope this would really give you good options!

I also recommend Pro C# 3.5, I have Pro C# 3.0 with .NET Special Edition and
have found it to be an excellent book. It's big, but does a really nice job of
covering pretty much everything. You could also look into the webcasts in
addition to books available on the ASP Soup To Nuts website.
