| Need recommendation for a good vb.net book |

Hi,
I've been having problems lately (still do!) with Render, CreateChildControls,
EnsureChildControls and all these related methods and properties.
looking back, i feel like this underlines that i dont fully understand how .net
works! I've been doing .net for nearly 3 years now and i think i never really
stopped to understand the whole framework.
Sure I've acquired a general understanding, a big picture of it but im getting
tired to stumble on small problems like this
(http://forums.asp.net/t/1201092.aspx) as soon as I get out of the beaten path.
Who could recommend me a good book on the .net 2.0 framework ? preferably
vb.net. Although i insist on framework here, i need a book that will teach me
the innerworkings of the framework, the event model, garbage collection and how
it affects my code and all that, i dont need a book that teaches me vb.net or
c#.
Any recommendations ?

Take a read of Pro VB 2005 and the .Net 2.0 Platform from Apress isbn
1-59059-578-5 http://www.apress.com/book/view/1590595785
Andrew Troelsen is the author and I have to say he writes great books very
complete coverage of the topic always, you will find yourself going back to it
many times.
Hope it helps

i would classify myself as an executer.
definitely not beginner, and not a designer either.

For a global understanding of the .NET Framework 2.0, I would recommend u
Professional .NET Framework 2.0 from Wrox.
Hope this helps,
Joseph
