When I create a page using vbw 2008 express, and want to preview the web page I
get an error message "unable to connect to asp.net development server. I
am sure installed everything. Can anyone tell me what this means and how to
correct this? I am very new to this and need to build a site for my company
soon I search the forms and got some ideas but any suggestions would be
appriciated.

Check your firewall. The dev server uses a random port above 1024, so you need
to have that available.

I turned off the firewall and still get the error. What I did was created a
page, build>build page ( message reads the build was successful) then started
debugging ( green arrow) and thats when I get the error ( unable to connect to
the asp.net development server) Am I following the instructions propery or is
there something I need to configure first. I went to asp.net configuration and
get that same message.

No, nothing like that just an error message. I tried to download the asp.net
framework again to repair it and that did not work. I am on dial up so maybe
that has something to do with it or I have not configured something on my
computer properly. The program seems to work fine except when I click on
"create my first web page" on the front page, I get a broken link so
maybe I should reinstall the vwe 2008. I will keep trying.
