I am going to be purchasing Either the Telerik Package or the Component Art
Package and would love to hear all of your input on which you think is a better
package and better in overall performances. Your comments would be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks

I am currently using Telerik controls on a project. I was first very
enthusiastic about them, but I will admit, you need to watch how heavy the
controls are(some pages I used got buffed between 250K and 600K b/c of I was
using a lot of their controls on a single page). Some don't seem to be cross
browser compliant. Check out people talking about the RadSplitter control.
Granted majority of their controls I have tested are cross-browser compliant. I
would still recommend Telerik controls despite the very small pitfalls, I am
still happy with they stuff. If you are looking at specifically using a certain
control a lot, I would definitely recommend doing searches on it before trying
to implement it throughout your project.

Oh, our solution to get around the bulk load of the controls was to use GZIP
compression. We built a httpmodule and it shrunk pages from 260K plus to 35K
roughly and the performance jumped up.
