Acrobat 3D - view only

Acrobat 3D - view only

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out how to make it so that I can create a website where
users can come to view 3D objects created in Adobe 3D, but where they can't save
the mesh out to their computer. Is there a way to disable the "save
as..." feature so the user cannot take proprietary information?

Thanks,

Anything on the internet can be saved and shared. That's how it is.
Disabling a save button would make zero difference (consider what
would happen for a user without Adobe Reader installed at all).

You can use Acrobat's Security settings to accomplish this. Open the Document
Properties dialog; File > Properties...

•Click on the Security tab.
•In the "Security Method:" field, choose "Password
Security". You'll notice the default setting is "Encrypt all document
contents". Keep this setting.
•Check the 2nd checkbox; "Restrict editing and printing of the document. A
password will be required in order to change these permission settings."
•Keep the default settings for permissions. If you'd like you can also uncheck
the "Enable text access for screen reader devices for the visually
impaired".
•Enter a password in the "Change Permissions Password:" field
•Click "OK". The first time you use this a message is displayed about
how some 3rd party products don't support and respect these settings. If this is
displayed, click "OK
".
•Confirm your password in "Confirm Permissions Password" dialog and
click "OK"
•A message is displayed that says that security is not applied until you save
the document. Click "OK"
•Click "OK" in the Document Properties" panel
•Save the document, or do a "Save As..."

HI Guys,
I know you don't care for this Web approach - however if you follow Steve's
detailed instruction (thnx) you may not be able to email your PDF out from
behind a business firewall. The email scanners detect the file is protected via
a password and flag as a possible threat.
Just thought I'd add my 2 cents - cheers
