| Adobe Updater (8.1.2) gone wild! |

My Mac Mini (Core 2 Duo) ground to an almost halt yesterday - disk grinding
away, but nothing else happening. After wrestling my way to a terminal window
(took some time and effort), I found that the "Adobe Updater" chewing
up as much CPU time and memory as it could get. After killing it off, things
returned to normal. I was able to reproduce this again this morning by selecting
"Check for updates...". The updater process starts chewing 100% CPU
time (probably 100% one core), and consumes more and more memory over time...
