Help! Can't import .jpeg?? CS3

well trying to import a .jpeg but after effects displays the folowing error
AFter effects error: file (myfile.jpg) cannot be imported. FIle type is not
suported.

It works with other files (video .avi, .mov) but not jpeg.

      Your jpeg file is probably cmyk encoded. You need to convert it to rgb
      in photoshop or some other image program before bringing in aefx




That's not true for After Effects CS3. A little new feature in CS3 is that After
Effects can convert CMYK to RGB upon import. Here's an excerpt from the

Well, could still be an unsupported variation. AE also does not particularly
like some grayscale JPEGs and some "high fidelity" JPEG files spit out
by digital cameras... Anyway, if you're experiencing issues and are reasonably
certain the image is RGB and within the specs, then the problem usually boils
down to some EXIF data lingering somewhere from the RAW processing app or the
digital camera. In such cases simply strip the data entirely in Bridge before
bringing your files into AE.
