mimicing a layer?

Is there away to quickly tell a layer to follow all the animated properties of
another layer?

Sounds like you could just use the pick whip to create expressions in one of the
duplicates linking to the same properties in the animated layer, select all the
properties with expressions, Edit > Copy Expression Only, select all the
other duplicates, Edit > Paste.
