We are using Acrobat Capture 3 (cluster) together with a scanner to produce
PDFs. The PDFs are in "PDF Version 1.3". But due to some authority
requirements we need to produce PDFs in "PDF Version 1.4". We cannot
find any settings to adjust the PDF versioning. Is it possible to create PDFs in
"PDF Version 1.4" with Capture 3?

This should NEVER be necessary. A PDF 1.3 file is always compatible
with PDF 1.4 (both in practical and the strictest definition terms).

I agree - 1.3 is of course compatible with 1.4. But it still doesn't solve my
problem. The authority requirement is 1.4 (let's not discuss whether that makes
sense... - but I know they will reject the PDFs if we provide them 1.3
regardless of compatibility!).

(But I should add I'm not familiar with the product at that detail
