converting pdf image file to pdf text file
Wed, 30 May 2007 09:05:18 -070
Maybe I didn't state my topic correctly.... we have about 2000 pdf files that
were scanned in (I assume as images) that we would like to be able to make text
searchable.

Can someone help this newbie with the process in how this is done?

We have Acrobat Prof 7.0

Thanks in Advance !

Do you have Adobe Acrobat Capture? If not, you should probably ask in
the Acrobat Windows forum if there is a way beyond doing it one at a
time. Not sure if there is: Adobe like to sell Capture for the task.

Good morning Dale. Thanks for posting your message here. I thought I was the
only one in the universe who had the same question!

I am in Exactly The Same Position as you are, in that I have over 2000 documents
that have been scanned as .pdf documents, using Adobe Acrobat 5.0. My team at
the United Nations would like to be able to search the body (text) of these
documents, and we've just received the Acrobat Capture 3.0 Program, in order to
do so, using 'OCR'.

However, we have no idea how to do this. Is there anyone out there who can
help?

My email is Riegelman@un.org, and my office number is (917) 367-9186 (UN
Secretariat, DPKO).

Thank you very much,
