"Out of Memory" attempt capturing web page ver 8.1

To All Welcome,
I have invested over 56 hours on this problem so you can trust I've done my
homework.

Environment:AMD 64 clawhammer with (2-512MB PC400 DDR SDRAM) and 14 gig
pagefile.sys with windowsXPsp2 using acrobat professsional 8.1.

I have removed almost everything unnecessary from the memory cache so that when
I begin my web page capture I have about 7.5 mb available of physical memory and
14 gigs of pagefile.

The capture is set to "8.5 by 14" and compiles to 31524 pages.
The pagefile is 1.21 GB used at this point as I am ready to "save" the
pdf.
It takes about three hours to compile the capture.
This part of the process always happens without incident.

By varying the pc's environment to background services and away from the design
"look and feel," the compile time has dropped to the minimum of 3
hours.
I've tried to dedicate this workstation to capturing "Sun Java2 SDK ver
1.4.2 full documentation."

The problem comes as soon as I save the file. The actual file listed in Task
Manager is 530k. It starts ballooning up to 700k during the save process and
dies when the bar is almost totally saved after almost 4 hours of intense front
line battle.
I am trying to be patient and work this out.
I am in the middle of the 8th capture as I write this.
I dropped all unessential programs out of the task manager so its basically bare
bones.

My question is what am I missing in my setup, or is 1gig of physical memory
simply not enough "no matter how big and fast your pagefile is?"
My motherboard and CPU will accept up to 2-2gig SDRAM of physical memory.
The politics are not right for me at this moment to ask the LAN guys or a boss
to "borrow" more memory for this project.

Can this be done with "14 gigs SATA Hard Drive pagefile" and "1
gig of PC400 512 3-3-3 SDRAM's?"

Are there settings I've not found to edit?

I really want this documentation and I quite enjoy the pdf format. I've grown
accustomed to reading all programming docs in pdf format.

I appreciate any help that is offered.

Capture is Adobe's 'industrial strength' OCR software application - Web Capture
is a feature of Acrobat, so you might get better response in the Acrobat forum.
