Similar error messages have been associated with machines not being run as
"Administrator," or from a network environment. Do not know if either
fits your case, but you might want to look at "Accounts" and
"Privileges." While many Adobe programs do not seem to mind the
Accounts and Privileges settings, Encore has, in the past.

Thanks for reply. Machine is new, High spec, not connected to Internet, not
networked...trying to avoid problems by keeping it isolated/wrapped in cotton
wool! (figuratively speaking!!)Will look tonight when I get home from the day
job - its 5.24 pm here, GB. Hope this 'administrator' area holds the key, as
been stuck on this for three days now!!
