Ok, I'm having this same Encore CS3 problem with the "PGC "title of
project" has an error at..."
In my Encore project I'm using files both from Premiere and After Effects.
From what I've read in most of the other posts people are saying that the
problem lies within Premiere. However, my project portion that has the error is
an AVI that came from After Effects. I've also tried importing just the After
Effects composition into encore, in which it appears that everything is going to
be fine, but then I get the same error.
Now I am definitely an amateur at this stuff, but it seems like everything is
transcoding fine...When I build the project it transcodes everything and then
goes through the importing/analyzing/preparing file stuff..and then BAM...out
comes the famous "PGC Error".
I've also tried exporting an AVI from Premiere, using and not using Adobe Media
Encoder, and using Cinema Craft Encoder, but still get that same PGC error.
I then tried to open the same project up in Encore 2 and build the DVD but
instead of getting a PGC error, it never finishes rendering a 750 frame menu, in
which I was getting the PGC error in Encore 3. It will get to frame 749 then go
back down to the 600's and back to 749 and then repeat the process probably
forever...and another thing with Encore 2 is it runs really really slow for me
for some reason...
I've also tried cleaning out the registry media cache...didn't help...

what if you try to do build the project with just after effects files, then with
just premiere files. just to verify you don't have the problem of one that is
just imposing on the other. What program did you use to re-encode the AVI file?
this way i can test it here to see if that program universally doesn't work.

Ben.
Have you tried the "Never-ending transcode" fix?

I used Cinema Craft Encoder...I'll try to put everything in After Effects today
and see if that helps.
I tried the registry fix, as well. It didn't help...but there were only a couple
files in there. I thought I read on another post that one guy had like 15,000 in
the cache.

Ok, here's a little update....I took my project to another computer...
The computer doesn't have enough RAM to install Encore CS3 so I just did Encore
2. There are no other Adobe programs on the computer, just the Encore 2 that I
put on...so nothing to conflict with it...
First, I tried to build an image. It finished rendering this time, unlike my
previous post when it kept rendering forever...However, this time after the
render it continued for a few seconds then said "Error setting up
transcoder". All my files are already transcoded so why would it need to
set up a transcoder anyway?
