Hi All, Thanks in advance for any help I might get. This is not related to
Encore but I was hoping someone in this forum can help me. I am trying to write
up a short document on guidelines for DVD format standards to be used in
different regions in the worls. I have been looking this up on the net but not
succeeding much. Can you direct me to such a place?

A good source of DVD info is the DVD Demystified FAQ
<http://www.dvddemystified.com/dvdfaq.html>.
The region settings are only intended to prohibit playback in certain regions.
E.g. a movie distributor wants its DVD only to be played in the US and not in
Europe where the movie hasn't hit the theatres yet.
Other than that the only region consideration to make is whether to release a
DVD in NTSC, PAL or both. While almost all PAL set top DVD players can play NTSC
discs, most NTSC players can't play PAL.
