| Subpicture not showing up |

I'm testing my dvd and the subpicture layer attached to button menus are not
showing up on some TVs/DVD players. The subpicture layer is a shadow highlight
to indicate the button is selected. On my brothers (very old) big screen and
(very old) dvd player the subpicture layer is not showing up. On my old tv and
dvd player it is. On my new tv and dvd player it is showing up as well. I assume
it is his TV or DVD player (I'll switch his dvd player out tonight with one of
mine to test the problem). I'll be able to pinpoint the problem tonight, but I
was wondering if anyone else had this problem. I am wondering what universal
subpicture lays would work best.

I tested this on three different TVs and three different DVD players with three
different results. Does anyone have any advice as to what subpicture
colors/styles may work best universally?

If it works on some players but not on others, then there is no problem with the
disc.
It almost has to be the player.
