Vanishing Motion Menus

I'm trying to create a DVD with a bog-standard motion menu straight from the
library (this problem affects all the menus I've tried by the way).

Checking the project and previewing it show no problems.

When the disc is burnt and then played the motion menu goes through 1 or 2
cycles and then the menu vanishes and you have to restart the disc to get them
back.

I've tried everything I can think of but with no success. Has anyone else had
this problem or can suggest a possible solution.

I have overrides set on the disc, the menu, all 4 buttons and all 5 of my
timelines. They're all set back to the menu itself.

Have to confess, I'm not entirely sure what the override function does.

Remove each and every override and try again.

Don't use overrides (or any other commands) unless you know exactly what they
do.

There's something about a box that says "not set" that cries out to be
filled with something, a bit like touching a plate when someone just told you
it's hot.!
