trouble using playlist in Encore 1.5

I am trying to build a basic DVD with a single menu. The menu has 4 buttons:
play all, rehearsal, daytime show, evening show.

For the "play all" button, I have built a playlist (called All Play)
consisting of 15 timelines. Each of the timelines have a few chapter points.
None of the timelines have end actions or overrides. I have linked this playlist
to the menu's play all button. This playlist has an end action taking you back
to the single menu.

For the "rehearsal" button, I have built a separate playlist (called
rehearsal) consisting of 2 timelines. The two timelines on this playlist also
appear in the "play all" playlist. I haven't seen anything in the User
Guide indicating that this should be a problem. This playlist has an end action
taking you back to the single menu.

For the "daytime show" button, I have built a separate playlist
(called daytime show) consisting of 6 timelines. The 6 timelines on this
playlist also appear in the "play all" playlist. This playlist has an
end action taking you back to the single menu.

And finally, for the "evening show" button, I have built a separate
playlist (called evening show) consisting of 7 timelines. The 6 timelines on
this playlist also appear in the "play all" playlist. This playlist
has an end action taking you back to the single menu.

The structure seems pretty basic to me and straightforward in that it avoids
keeping track of overrides.

It plays well in the preview but when I create a DVD volume and then burn a
disc, the menuing doesn't hold. Each of the menu buttons take me to the first
timeline for their respective play list, but then it goes really weird. When I
use the fastforward button on the stand alone DVD player's remote control to go
to the next chapter point and/or the next timeline on the playlist I get almost
random results. Sometimes it even takes you to a timeline that isn't even on the
playlist that is linked to a given menu button.
