Follow Up to: trouble using playlist in Encore 1.5

Refining my question:

Last night I posted a topic/problem regarding the use of playlists in Encore
1.5. The post describes how I've set the menu, buttons and playlist for a DVD
project.

Tonight, I took a closer look at the DVD I burned. And,to my surprise, the menus
and playlists are actually working fine--if left to just play after I select a
button on the menu. The problems arise only when using the DVD player's remote
to search or advance to the next chapter point.

For each of my playlists, the search/advance button (i.e., a single tap on the
fastforward button) works fine for the chapter points in the playlists first
timeline. However, once you've reached the last chapter point in a playlists
first timeline, if you press the search/advance button again, it doesn't take
you to the beginning of the next timeline in the playlist. It takes you to other
timelines...some not even on a given button's linked playlist. I haven't been
able to find a consistent logic to where it takes you,

1. Put a dummy chapter marker at the last GOP of the timeline. This will allow
the skip button to take you to the dummy chapter from the last real chapter and
then let the playlist continue.

2. The timelines are burned on disc in the same order that they were created by
you in the project. If you don't have a dummy chapter like I suggested in step
1, then many (not all) DVD players will skip to the next timeline on the disc
instead of going to the next timeline in the playlist like they should.

Thanks Jeff for the advice. I'll give it a try and see how it goes.

Given item 2 in your response, would you also recommend deleting my project's
existing timelines and re-creating them in the order of play?

I've noticed a slight hesitation between timelines as it plays through a
playlist. Would re-creating take care of this as well?

For maximum compatibility and keeping audience surprises to a minimum, yes. :)
