It seems a long way round to do a very simple task. Is there something i missed,
or perhaps it has been added to CS3 Encore?
After making a project all 24 chapter points are there ready and 3 page menu
system works great.
All i need to do is replace the asset but i also want all the chapter points to
be loaded as per the new asset. The only way i find to do this id to delete the
old asset and load in the new one. The problem is you lose all the chapter point
references in the menus and so have to redo them all.

You should be able to simply replace the asset.
Go to the Project Panel & select the asset you want to replace (the M2V or
AVI file, not the timeline it is on)
Select "File/Replace Asset" (CTRL+H)

thx for the reply neil
Unless my computer / program isnt working right, i right click on the asset i
want to replace and chose the one i want.
My point is the chapter points on the tmeline remain as the old asset.
If i delete the old timeline, then replace the asset and then make a new
timeline the new chapter points are there.
The problem however remains, the menus i have made up which where simply 24
scenes made simply from chapter 1 to 24, aren't replaced at all
I have to make every single menu up again from scratch.
every one scene 1 to chapter 1, just seems a waste.
I know the menu is made up as the timeline chapter points, but when you replace
asset all the poster frames go and all the references no longer work

You don't need to re-make the entire menu system...just relink the buttons to
the chapters again.
