adding ac3 audio file into timeline makes video file stuck

I'm so sorry, but I don't know how to name it! I followed one of the guides
found via net, and changed avi file into 720x576 m2v.

the first issue is that avi file is 640x360 and I don't have any idea what to do
to make it look ok in 720x576. I tried so many ways, adding horizontal black
background into frames, trying to use my brain and math - all for nothing. once
I did good combination using virtualdubmod, but it wasn't good enough - a had
vertical black areas on left and right side. i searched everywhere and i just
can't find any solution.

and now the main problem. after solving so many issues (error setting up
transcoder etc), after finding out how the hell i should convert avi file (nooo,
it realy doesn't matter it took 4 hours to do! christ!) now it's the best.

so I have used HCgui to convert avi into m2v (plus changing the resolution, no
matter it's crap) and the finished file was without sound. i don't know if
that's what it should be, whatever, a have sound in ac3 file.

so i put m2v file into encore. i make timeline from it. i check it into monitor.
it's ok, no sound, but goes smoothly. then i added ac3 file with sound and it
jammed, it started to cut, i don't know how to describe it in english, sorry,
you know - puases every second, while sound is ok.

it was the same when i made avi file into 720x576 and made a timeline from it,
but it was in mpeg-4 and now i know it doeasn't cooporate with encore well.

You are using material that is bound for disaster to strike. Use a converter to
change the resolution to 768x576 with square pixels or to 720x576 with PAR
1,0667 or 1,422 for wide screen and convert the audio to WAV 48 KHz. export that
file from PP as a standard DV AVI type2 into Encore and author from there.

this is sick! i used other advice - i've changed resolution straight from 16:9
640x360 into 16:9 720x576 with HCgui. as a timeline now the video goes smoothly.
great, huh? not really. i added 48k Hz wav and the sound started to crash. the
same with ac3 file.

dear god, just give me a breake! is it really so hard to make app that can
really works?
