| Chapter points from Premiere timeline? |

OK, the truth is I have never run Encore before.
I have Premiere Pro 2.0.
I need to start authoring some DVDs.
I don't think the Authoring capability included within Premiere Pro 2.0 will
quite do it for me. So, I'm looking at getting Encore. A couple of questions:
1. When I specify chapter points within the Premiere timeline, can those somehow
be imported as chapter points in Encore or do I have to specify the chapter
points all over again?
2. What version of Encore should I get? (I'm not even sure any version other
than CS3 is available.) If I get CS3, will I need to start using Premiere CS3 as
well?

1. You can set chapter points in PPro that Encore can use.
2. There is no separate Encore anymore. If you buy CS3 it includes Encore and
Premiere.

Ruud,
A question about #3. I've been outputting AC3s from PP2 DD Surround 5.1
(SureCode plug-in), and Importing the DV-AVI & AC3s into Encore2 to create
DVDs. On my home system, they play as 5.1 very well, and on lesser systems as
stereo without the spatial aspect. What am I missing in your statement? Coming
from you, it gives me reason to pause and ask.
Thanks,

JBowden,
Thanks for the clarification. As I said, I had to be missing something, and you
cleared it up nicely.
