Glitches in encoded video when played in Encore CS3

What happens if the file is actually burned to DVD?
Try writing to an RW disc, as I think this might be playback engine related as
we would see the same problem in 1.5 (which uses a different engine for preview)
if the problem was actually in the encoded file.
Stranger though it might sound as well, I believe this may be Mouse driver
related. Bear with me here, but we have seen all sorts of issues when Encore
(and all other graphically intensive applications) are used in combination with
Microsoft Intellipoint drivers at 6.0 or later.
The way to tell is to look for a file called "ipoint.exe" and if this
is on your system, then you may well have the affected drivers.
If you have the file "point32.exe" then it is not affected.
This is with MS Intellipoint version 5.0, and possibly (I am checking this) 5.2
as well.
