| CS3 - first build worked...not |

I was so proud yesterday...created my first DVD. Build worked fine...played the
disk in my DVD player on TV...great...saved...went back into create another
disk...I assumed pilot error and through the buring it aborted. Then tried again
today...had to re-render the sub menu...without problems...then said to create
DVD from Current Project...finally got this note below:
Error was unable to complete the operation because of a hardware error (Sense
Code 40300). Please contact the hardware manufacturer for more information.
===================
PLEASE note...I can't hit the OK button...so Encore is locked...will have to
force quit. IDEAS? How do I go back without going all the way back to a new
project...what files can I delete and then re-render?
Also I created a ISO image. What do I do with it? I burned it on a CD...put it
in a DVD player and it says it is un-playable disk.
Crap...I was so excited to get it to work correctly THE FIRST TIME...and have
failed with everything since...trying to burn more disks.
Can I copy the GOOD disk into a file and then move it to the BURN FOLDER and
burn another copy...will that produce a disk I can put into my DVD player and
view?
I REALLY want to know how to do another BUILD.

One more thing...about the ISO file...when I burned it to DVD it creates a
directory with a bunch of video_ts.bup .vob files...how can I get a DVD viewer
to treat these as a DVD presentation?

A sense code error is generated by the burner. It may be the result of a burner
hardware defect, bad or incompatible media, but often it is caused by some piece
of software on your system interfering in the communication between Encore and
the burner. Although Windows specific, you may get some idea what to look for on
your Mac by reading the Things and Software to avoid when authoring for DVD-V
<http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.3bbe7ec0> FAQ.
One more thing...about the ISO file...

Thanks Ruud...
BUT...why would it work the first time I did a BUILD and not the second time?
Nothing changed! I did read the link to "things..." before I left my
note. Nothing seemed related to me.
So...if I wanted to pretend I was doing a BUILD from PROJECT for the first time
(again) what files/folder do I need to delete?

Bill,
Do you have the option of trying with another burner - maybe a friend's
external?
As far as your burner/player is concerned, can you make it work with other
sofware. I do not know what is available for MAC, so I will not toss out a lot
of other SW, that might be PC only.
As Rudd states, once you have the ISO file, other burning software can burn a
DVD from that. Again, do not know what's available for MAC, but there are bound
to be dozens. On PC, one must watch out for installs of Roxio & Nero, which
want to add their packet-writing software, and that will mess with Encore.
I know that it's no direct help, seeing as how I'm a PC person, but it could be
that your burner decided to quit, between burning sessions.
Good luck,
