| Filling a 16x9 Screen, not Letterboxed AND Pillarboxed |

I have a question on settings, and handling media within Encore and Premiere.
With storebought DVDs, when played on a my Sony Bravia 16x9 LCD TV, completely
fill the screen on the TV's Full setting.
Others, appear letterboxed, but also Pillar boxed on the left and right, so I
have to use the ZOOM option to fill the screen.
All of the DVDs Im producing, are Letterboxed AND Pillarboxed, so we have to use
the Zoom button, which does fill the screen but doesnt look as nice in terms of
resolution.
How does one prep footage so that way the DVD player and 16x9 tv communicate to
fill the screen automatically.

If they are 16:9 anamorphic, then you should not be seeing the problem.

The video is 720x480 but it looks stretched vertically on a regular tv - which
is anamorphic. The pixel aspect is 1.2
The frame rate is 29.97.
When we burn it, it does play correctly in terms of squishing it back down to a
correct aspect 16x9, but it is ALSO pillar boxed on a 16x9 tv.
So it ends up being both letterboxed and pillar boxed on a 16x9 tv, basically it
doest fill the screen and only letterboxed on a 4x3 tv. Make sense?
