| possible to pull clips on fly based on menu selection? |

Hi,
We want to setup an instructional DVD (30 minutes in length) that has about 50
menu options the user can scroll through and based on their selection the full
DVD plays but only 25 seconds would change based on their choice. (29:35 of the
video is constant no matter what the menu selection is. Only 5 different
sections are unique, at 5 seconds each).
Since we can't fit 50 versions at 30 minutes each on one DVD, is it possible to
pull in just the custom sections in random spots of the video and appear
seamless?
Or, any ideas on how to accomplish this? We can get away with the video being
the same and only the audio changing if that makes a difference.
Thanks

thanks Ruud - we could probably format it like that. We have just basic
authoring experience and can't find how this is accomplished in Encore CS3. Any
way to point us in the right direction?
We also don't mind outsourcing the work - we're in Seattle. Any recommendations
on forums for people looking for work based by city?
thanks again,

Kris,
Authoring this shouldn't be too difficult.
Lets say that you got main clips A, B and C. And variation clips 1 through 6.
Set up playlists like this:
playlist I: A - 1 - B - 2 - C
playlist II: A - 3 - B - 4 - C
playlist III: A - 5 - B - 6 - C
Then link each button to one of the playlists.
(Be aware that a 4:3 DVD title allows a maximum of 36 buttons per menu and a
16:9 one a maximum of 18 buttons.)
