| Getting "appropriate codec" errors when importing assets |

I'm a brand-new Encore user, running CS3 3.0.1.005 on Windows XP 5.1 SP 2. I do
my editing on a Mac, running OSX 10.4, the newest version of Final Cut (2).
When I transfer a .mov file to my PC running Encore, and try to do File ->
Import as -> Asset, and select that .mov file, I get this message:
"Quick Time and/or the appropriate codec do not appear to be
installed".
I tried installing Quick Time Pro 7 (latest version) but that did not solve the
problem.
I have seen mixed signals on this board as to whether this is possible (Mac to
PC) or not. I'm really hoping "is" is the answer, as I just invested a
big chunk of money in the CS3 Production Premium for this PC. (I went this
direction to be able to author Blu-Ray DVD's, my PC has a Blu-Ray burner).
Any help, or even some sympathy as I pull my hair out, would be very
appreciated!
Thanks,

It should work if you have QuickTime installed. What codec was used in FCP? Is
it DV-QuickTime?

I am using the HDV Quicktime codec. The movie is self-contained as far as I
know.

Miriam.
Was this the Native HDV codec from FCP?
