Importing images

Dear All,

My first project with a new production suite is to import about 200 jpeg-images.
Every image has a size of 3000kb to 5000kb. When I ask Bridge to open the files
in Encore as slide presentation I get the following message:

The software to encode the media is not available with the system. Try to solve
the problem by installing the correct decoder.

Has somebody an idea of the problem? Is it possible that the images need to have
a certain size?

I think I've read that the maximum resolution is 4096 x 4096
