Scott,
I know this doesn't help with your specific situation, but FWIW I use a Tascam
digital audio recorder that records broadcast wave files with timecode, when I'm
shooting something like a live band and I want to mix in good quality sound. I
love it. Works great with mics or plugged into a sound board.

I've also thought seriously about replacing my Digi002 rack with a MOTU 2408mk3
since it is supposed to have "built-in video and SMPTE
synchronization". I just can't figure out exactly what that means and how
it would work (if at all)...
