Hey Scott (ADK),
With the proliferation of the new 3 series chipsets, I suppose it doesn't matter
all that much, but I found it amusing that even the tech site you do trust lists
the max memory speed for the 975x chipset at 667, not 800. :)

Hilarious,
typical! copy paste from old white papers.... think the issue is when Intel
wrote those white papers Jedec had only approved of DDR2 667.
<http://download.intel.com/design/chipsets/datashts/31015801.pdf>
but if you look here for the spec on the XBX2
<http://www.intel.com/products/motherboard/D975XBX2/index.htm>
it lists DDR2 800 (the board was released after Jedec approved of DR2 800 as a
real spec) note Jedec still has not approved of DDR 2 1000. however any 975
board is being able to support it. (technically DDR2 1000 and above is nothing
more than overclocked DDR 800 chips)
Sheesh gotta love these tech doc writers...
