| Inadequate disc space to burn disc. |

I have a 1 hour 12 minute project of a basketball game and can't burn it to disc
at the highest level due to "Inadequate disc space." When I use a
lower bit rate, it turns out jerky. What am I doing wrong? I would think 72
minutes would fit on a 120 minute DVD

I think you'll find that at "max" quality, a DVD is only 1 hour.
Unless your video is very good (and basketball footage is going to be very
tricky under the best of circumstances), you'd be hard pressed to get the
quality down to 2 hours on a disk and have good video. If you work on settings
from within Premiere, calculate the bitrates, including audio (which you can
probably drop fairly low).
You are probably better off to export an AVI and let encore or similar program
do the sizing/quality automatically.
What did the problem sections look like in the original footage? MiniDV source?

I finally gave up and sent it to Encore where I got usable results. It was on DV
tape and the original was all good footage.
Thanks so much. Don't know why Premiere couldn't handle it.

Curious: what is the data rate of the DVD from encore?
