Multi-Cam monitor questions...
Mon, 18 Jun 2007 09:11:03 -070
I'm using PPro2.0 (afraid to load PP3 preview for fear it'll kill my ability to
use the existing PP2) and doing Multi-cam editing of a wedding (2 cameras). My
questions are-
1. When the video is NOT playing, the resolution in the multi-cam (MC) monitor
window is excellent. Once it starts playing the resolution, to put it bluntly,
goes to crap. I know that I can change the resolution of the Program and Source
monitors; can one do that in the MC monitor window?
2. Is it possible to send the MC monitor video to an external monitor (like I
can do with the Program Monitor)?
3. Does anyone know if PPro3 does Multi-Cam any better than PP2?!?! {Just
curious...}

Thanks in advance!

1. This normal, depending on the abilities of your graphics card. The actual
media isn't being affected, only your view of it.

2. Not that I'm aware of.

Jim,

1. I knew that it didn't affect the actual media (though I appreciate your
mentioning it). It's just frustrating if you're needing to know if you should
switch cameras because (for example) Camera A went out of focus for a bit if
you're trying to check it with both previews somewhat blurry. One is stuck
picking the "less blurry" camera... However, since one can
double-check at the original tracks, this is minor.

2. Drat!

3. Me neither. Just hoping someone else had...

Thanks much!
