| PPro 2 -- Importing content via DL |

When I import previous premiere projects, am I using DL as I would be if I
imported part of an AE composition using DL import?
My issue is I'm importing past premiere projects into premiere and the 'project
size' is being altered (against my will) to conform to the new project. I'm
wondering if I'm using DL or if I'm NOT using DL and I should be perhaps.
What's happening is I'm importing projects that are NTSC (720x480, 0.9PAR,
29.97fps) into a project that is 640x480 0.9PAR, 29.97fps. When I do this, it
--->CROPS<--- the size of the 720x480 premiere project to 640x480. So, the
left 40 pixels and right 40 pixels are being CROPPED OFF against my will.
Are DL projects subject to this? Am I importing it wrong? Am I not using DL and
I should? I imported the project into PPro using file->import, didn't use
anything DL. I don't know how 'automatic' DL is but I've DL'd explicitly using
the dynamic link option in premiere (using an AE composition). (FYI I have the
studio, 1.5 and 2.0).
Should it be cropping the project? If so, WHY?????????????????
edit: I read in another reply to me in another forum that PPro does not allow
you to edit the dimensions. I was told in another thread (also) that I'd need to
import the project, then place it on a new timeline, and resize it with the
motion tool.

You should not be importing old pojects into new projects. The old will take on
the settings of the new. Just open them with File > Open
The reason you can not change settings is complicated. Too many people had
problems. So now, to change settings, just import into a new project with those
settings. This is obviously NOT what you want to do at this time.
Just open the old project.
