| Captured DV file will only play for 4 1/2 |

Hi everyone.
I've got a performance video to do where I've got 4 streams of video and audio
about 40 minutes long to synch up and edit.
Premiere wont capture it because of the "can't find inpoint increase
preroll" error that cannot seem to be fixed.. I check in the forum. So I
captured it with windows movie maker which works fine so long as that program
itself doesn't run into any problems.
So I've got 4 DV-AVI files to import into Premiere. I play them in the clip
window and they work fine all the way though, But when I put any one of them in
the timeline, between 4 and 5 minutes the video freezes and the audio flatlines
into one tone. The program doesn't stop responding. it still runs fine and I can
push stop and rewind it to before the 4 1/2 minute mark and the video plays
fine. If i edit the clip in the clip window and crop a minute off the beginning
than put it in the timeline. same problem except that it happens in the same
spot of the video, not the timeline. so now the glitch is at 3 1/2 minutes.
I kind of "fixed" the problem by going into WMM and cutting all the
files up into 4 minute segments then saving them as the same format and
importing all of them into the timeline butted up against each other. But its
causing horrible synch issues and I'm at my wits end.
I tried installing PPro on my older computer with Win XP thinking vista was the
problem. because quite often it is. But the exact same problem without deviation
is happening on my XP machine too... does PPro not like DV files or what? I have
no idea what the problem is. Please help. I need to get this video done this
weekend. Its my job application to work in Singapore. for the next 6 months of
my life.

I think WMM creates DV AVI type 1 files, Premiere needs type 2, so try...
