Help!!! Aspect Ratio Problem - I think???
Mon, 5 May 2008 11:51:25 -0700
Hi everyone,

Example: exported .avi file of bride and groom walking down the aisle when it
goes to widescreen and then the clip goes into 'skinny' mode and then back and
forth. This goes on through the video and I can't figure out why. Some of the
clips were not spliced and have regular effects on it (most often higher
contrast levels).

I noticed this when I exported an .avi from Premiere when I imported it into
Encore, and then previewed and even burned it onto a DVD. My project is due for
this Friday so any help would be appreciated.

Thank you for the reply Eddie, I've answered as much as I could in the time that
I have right now (I'm typing while trying to get 3 little kids out the door).. I
hope it's sufficient.

Codec: ?
Premiere Pro 7
Windows XP SP 2 build 2600
2GB ram
Captured using Canon ZR100 however filmed on Canon GL2

I've ran some checks:

Project setting: Pixel Aspect Ratio: .9
Footage used in project:
Tape 1 PAR: .9
Tapes 2-5 PAR: 1.2

The problem is you've got some anamorphic footage (1.2 PAR), and some regular
footage (.9 PAR). They don't match, and that's not good.

Thank you for the reply Jim... do you mean start a new project all together or
simply change my current settings and adjust the clips? is it possible to have a
regular project but have widescreen clips throughout, because it must have been
my error capturing one of the tapes as regular.. and since it's only one i can
recapture that one and accordingly...

if I'm off track here just me know!
