Audio Cature Problems PP 1.5

I've been using 1.5 on my computer for some time with no issues. I just shot
some new footage on the same Canon GL2 I've used many times. When I go to
capture it, the video and sound play fine in the capture window. When I try to
play the clips in the monitor or on the time line they have no audio. Capture is
set to "audio and video." On the time line the audio channel shows up
ans displays waveforms. Actually, if I drag trough the clip backward or forward
at a faster than normal speed, I can actually here the garbled audio.

I've tried capturing the same tape on a Cannon ZR500, same result. I've tried to
capture old tapes which worked fine before, same result.

My computer is an HP xw4100 with a P4 3.2. I'm running PP 1.5 on XPsp2. I shot
it all using a GL2. I'm capturing with ie1394. Audio was shot in 16bt an capture
to a 16bt project.
