| Reinstall all the type? Arrrrghhhhhh!!! |
 |

Yesterday, I had to replace the external hard drive where I keep all the fonts
for ATM (DeLuxe!). I
copied all the fonts to the new HD, removed the old HD, and renamed the
new HD with the same name as the old one.
But when I opened ATM, it didn't recognize the the new HD; keeps
insisting the fonts aren't installed.
I believe this happened to me once before, but I can't remember how I
fixed it.
I, of course, can reinstall all the fonts, but . . . geezus, what a
chore.
Anybody have a suggestion?

Larry,
ATM Deluxe is not compatible with Mac OS X. ATM Light is. ATM Deluxe is a
discontinued, unsupported product. Get a modern font manager, such as Font Agent
Pro (I believe it also supports OS 9 (but check, please). Still not the same as
the old ATM. But it has received better reviews in these forums than either
Suitcase or Font Reserve.

I suspect Neil got confused there or just typed too quickly.
ATM, ANY flavor of ATM, is not compatible with OS X, not ATM Deluxe and not ATM
Light either.

Thanks, Ramon. You're absolutely right. I meant that ATM Light is compatible
with OS X's Classic emulation, but ATM Deluxe is not.
Apologies for any confusion.
BTW, folks should understand that although Classic is an emulation, but not an
exact replica of OS 9, which is why some OS 9 apps will not work or work
properly under it.
