I am using InDesign CS2 4.0.5 and found what I think is an odd quirk in Garamond
Premier Pro Italic. This oddity appears in InDesign on my G5 Macintosh, using
OSX 10.4.10 and also in InDesign on my husband's computer using Vista.
Here's what happens: When I type (in Garamond Premier Pro Italic) a capital
"Q" followed by a lowercase "u" and then any letter except
"a," the Q is an italicized circle with a tail -- just what you would
expect. When I type a capital Q followed by the letters "ua," the Q
becomes an Italic Swash capital Q, looking rather like the number 2.
This does not happen in Word, only in InDesign.

My version of InDesign is much earlier than yours, namely 2.0.2, and I can
confirm the behavior you describe. It's normal; you have it set that way. :)
It can be stopped by going to the flyout menu in the Character palette, and
UNchecking the "Contextual Alternates" option in the Open Type
submenu:

Photoshop is the only application I update to the current version.
