| Adobe fonts not showing up in programs with Vista |

Hello:
I did an upgrade to Vista from XP and even though the fonts crossed over (most
of them) and I copy/pasted the extra ones into the fonts folder in Vista, NONE
of the Adobe fonts are available in some of the programs.
Why is this? I am not running ATM and never have...

Some programs specifically request that the operating system only
"enumerate" TrueType fonts and ignore Type 1 fonts. Examples of such
programs include AutoCAD, FileMaker Pro, and Microsoft Visio. These programs
ignore Type 1 fonts regardless of whether under Windows XP or Windows Vista.
Another possibility is that your "upgrade" from XP to Vista somehow
messed up your system. Note that the only reliable "upgrade" from XP
to Vista requires a clean installation of the operating system in a
newly-formatted disk partition followed by reinstallion of all fonts, drivers,
applications, etc. The "in place" upgrade is known to be very
problematic.
