I am trying to use the rendering functionality of the ReportViewer in a windows
service. It doesn't seem to be recognizing the object unless I drag it onto the
designer of a web or windows form. Is it possible to use this functionality in
this way?
I hope this makes sense.
What I want to do is create a windows services which renders Reporting Services
reports to pdf and places them in a file. The reports can exceed 200 pages so I
don't really want to use the subscription functionality. I need to be able to
stop and restart the rendering.
I know how to do the windows service part if I can just get some feedback on the
ReportViewer being used in this way I would appreciate it.

If anyone has any information on pausing scheduled report processing, that would
also be helpful. Can scheduled reports be set up to operate within a certain
timeframe?
I found this, but there are not many details...
