Creating a Secure Client Login Area

Hi,

Im looking into creating a secure client login area and we currenly have a
Netware server running apache 2.0.54 in our DMZ
ive got as far ar creating a test site on a separate IP address using a basic
database as authentication.
However im wondering if we can use our existing Netware certificates to secure
the communnications using SSL.

Im far from being an apache expert so ive bought some books to try and help. but
am i going about this the right way?

any other suggestions to achive my goal would be appreciated.
